' The Internal Revenue Service has begun to transfer economic stimulus payments to millions of Americans, some of whom will see payments in their bank accounts as early as April 28.

In the next few weeks, over 130 million American households will receive economic stimulus checks.

Taxpayers will begin receiving the rebate payments first, depending on the last two digits of their Social Security numbers.

With May right around the corner, the federal government is preparing for the huge task of distributing millions of economic stimulus checks.

Taxpayer rebates will start going out today. When you receive your check will depend on whether you have direct deposit to your bank account, and your Social Security number.

Those long-promised tax rebates are now on their way to U.S. taxpayers. People who chose to have their rebates directly deposited into their bank accounts will see the money there beginning today.

The check is more than in the mail. People who filed thier tax returns with direct deposit could start to see the federal government's economic stimulus money in their accounts as soon as today.

The IRS has started giving out economic stimulus checks to more than 130 million Americans, a week earlier than planned.
